THE CHINESE UMBRELLA IS STYLISH AND AN EXCELLENT PROTECTOR FROM THE STRONG AUSTRALIAN SUN, WHICH CAN BURN PALE SKIN WITHIN MINUTES.
THE BRIGHT RED LIP AND BEAUTIFUL ARCHED YET UNDERSTATED EYEBROWS ARE TYPICAL OF THE MAKEUP AND BEAUTY STYLE OF THE ERA.
I FOUND THIS VINTAGE ADVERTISEMENT FOR HAIR-WAVING SHAMPOO IN A RETRO 1950’S MOVIE MAGAZINE. THE MODEL HAS A GREAT CURLED HAIRSTYLE BUT I SUSPECT IT WAS ACHIEVED WITH ROLLERS MORE SO THAN SHAMPOO.HOME PERM ANYONE? THIS HOME PERMANENT ALLEGEDLY WORKS ON ALL HAIR COLOURS. DOING YOUR OWN PERM AT HOME WAS THE FASHION IN THE 50’S
